One Million Trees Drive

Environment

A Million Trees. A Cooler Pakistan.

Sindh is among the most climate-vulnerable provinces in Pakistan — extreme heat, deforestation, and desertification are eroding livelihoods. ZIMM Global’s One Million Trees Drive engages schools, communities, and corporations in mass plantation drives, turning barren lands into green corridors and teaching environmental stewardship to the next generation.

The Mission

Pakistan loses an estimated 27,000 hectares of forest annually. ZIMM Global’s tree drive focuses on native species — Keekar, Neem, Shisham, and Fruit trees — that are climate-adapted, drought-resistant, and provide food, shade, and economic value to rural communities.

Community Model

Every plantation drive involves the local community in selection, planting, and watering. School children maintain “tree registers” tracking each sapling. Follow-up visits at 30, 90, and 180 days ensure a 78% survival rate — far above the national average of 45%.
