When the catastrophic 2022 monsoon floods displaced millions across Sindh, ZIMM Global mobilized within 48 hours to establish one of the most organized emergency Tent Cities in the province. The operation housed over 600 families, provided clean water, hot meals, and medical care — and was visited by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Chief Minister of Sindh, and delegations from multiple UN agencies.
The Emergency
Pakistan’s 2022 super-floods affected over 33 million people — one third of the country submerged. Sindh was the hardest-hit province. ZIMM Global’s field teams were deployed within 48 hours of the first flood alerts, establishing supply chains for tents, food rations, clean water, and medicine before many government agencies had mobilized.
The Tent City
ZIMM Global organized a structured emergency Tent City on elevated ground near Dadu — a grid of 120+ shelter tents, a community kitchen serving 1,800 meals daily, two medical points staffed by volunteer doctors, and a dedicated safe space for women and children. The facility operated for six months until families could safely return or were relocated.
Official Recognition
The Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Chief Minister of Sindh both visited the Tent City and commended ZIMM Global’s response. Representatives from UNHCR, UNICEF, and the WFP used the site as a coordination hub. This recognition led to ZIMM Global’s inclusion in the provincial disaster response network.
After the Tents
Once the immediate crisis passed, ZIMM Global led a rehabilitation phase — rebuilding 40 homes, distributing construction materials to 200 families, restoring two village schools, and conducting psychosocial support workshops for 350 women and children.

ZIMM teams conducted door-to-door surveys in flooded zones, prioritizing elderly, disabled, pregnant women, and families with young children. A registration database was maintained to prevent duplication and ensure equitable distribution.
The operation was funded through public donations, corporate CSR contributions, and partial support from the Sindh government. All financial records are published in ZIMM Global’s annual transparency report.
